Mother and baby feet

Our story

Built by a busy mom.
For other busy moms.

Taking one thing off your motherload.

The mom tool I needed most.

The idea that started everything.

As a working mom of 2 kids, I GET the motherload. There's so much to do and piles that NEVER get done. Not out of desire, just plain bandwidth. Take my own kids' baby books — I bought dreamy linen hardcover ones. That are still on my shelf, unwritten.

Or those photo books I swore I'd print each year? I've got thousands of photos just sitting on my phone. I had SO many plans and — like you — too much to do.

Meanwhile, my kids crawled into toddlerhood and had first words. They had first steps, first falls; they entered preschool. They had LIFE MOMENTS beyond the baby stage that were worth preserving.

I started jotting down their CUTE SAYINGS in my Notes app. I RECORDED THEIR TINY VOICES on Voice Memos. I VIDEOED their funny dances. My husband started an EMAIL account for them, sending them anecdotes to read one day.

After a few years, I tried the photo book thing again, but nothing out there cut it. I'd arrange the photos, then rearrange them. I was still un-wowed. As a mom who cares deeply about aesthetics, fonts, and artistic quality, the final product left me UNINSPIRED.

Where was the book I actually wanted? And the tool that could build it for me with the QUALITY I desired? The one-stop widget that could blend everything I wanted to remember: their ridiculous sayings, my kids' tiny voices, the laugh-out-loud videos, the photos, those tiny moments that pass by so quickly? What product could curate my kids' life into that artful book I'd actually want on my coffee table?

There wasn't one. So I BUILT it.

Like you, I couldn't have "one-more-thing;" parents already do EVERYTHING. I wanted something that ALREADY FIT into my life. I wanted to pull out my phone and text the hilarious things my kids did — in that moment — to somewhere, someone, SOMETHING that could keep it safe, organized, and documented.

Heirloom is that EXACT space.

Our mission

Memory making made EASY.

We believe the small moments matter most: that Tuesday afternoon train chat, the glee of her first song, the exact words he said entering preschool. These are the things that disappear first.

We measure success in love. We want your child to look at the book, both now and in years to come, and KNOW how adored they were. We want YOU, mama, to look at this heirloom you created, text by text, and KNOW, "Dang, girl, I AM a good mom." Because you are. We know that. We hope you do too.

Now, at drop-off, when my 4-year-old son says, "Mom, I love you more, I love you the most, I love you like that," I just text it to Heirloom. And it's saved. FOREVER.

Or when my 7-year-old girl scrawls a bedtime note that says, "Dear tooth fairy, I loset my tooth and I accidentaloy ate my tooth," I snap a picture and text it to Heirloom.

Saved. Mine. ALWAYS.

The founder

A little bit about me.

I grew up in the 80s. I'm tech-forward but analog-hearted, which means at the end of the day, I want beautiful books in my hand, not technology.

I'm a licensed family therapist. I get what moments matter, what questions are worth savoring, what's essential, and what's not.

I'm an educator. Teachers live and breathe the wild things kids say and do. Moms do too.

I'm a writer. Beautiful narration is everything.

Aesthetics are imperative, and if something isn't pretty, it's not worth creating.

I love tech hacks for moms. Text messages (and girlfriends who text back) got me through my first year of motherhood, the hardest and most magical year of my life. Phones can be sanity.

I'm also a luddite — I don't want to live on my phone. I don't want my kids there either. I get the struggle. After my year of text gluttony, I co-founded TechWiseLittles, a platform to help families be as screen-intentional as possible.

Life is about balance. And growth. And dropping the guilt of it all.

I want my kids to have books in their hands. I want them to read timeless stories where they are the main character of their lives.

I'm a mom who cares. I'm IN the motherload with you. Let's make it easier on ourselves.

I'm SO glad you're here.

What we believe.

On trust

Your data is yours

We are curators and custodians of your memories, not owners. We will never sell or share your lives. Not now. Not ever.

On design

Ease is our playground

We work in texts because that's where you already are. It's easy, simple, done.

On permanence

Analog is forever

We want our kids to see themselves in art, not just on phones. A beautifully made book is permanent in a way no digital product can promise to be.

On honesty

The hard days matter too

We welcome hard days, good days, and everything in between. The whole story is more valuable than the highlight reel.

On time

We think in seasons

Author Gretchen Rubin sums it up brilliantly: "The days are long and the years are short." That's why every question is tailored to your child's developmental stage, and books can be printed annually.

On privacy

Radical transparency

Plain-English privacy commitments. No legalese. 12 months' notice before any change. Your memories, always portable.
